School is almost out for the year and what better way to celebrate than by taking your kids to the 34th annual Kidsfest at The Forks? Kidsfest is hosting a wide variety of performers, and this week I thought I’d give you a little sneak peak.
He’s a Juno Award winner and a creative genius. With highly original performances filled with wackiness and off-the-wall inventions, this is a performer you’re not going to want to miss. He will be performing at Tent A during the following times:
- Thursday, June 9th 1:45 pm
- Friday, June 10th 2:30 pm
- Saturday, June 11th 11:00 am
- Sunday, June 12th 4:00 pm
Winnipeg-native Fred Penner is coming back to his hometown to take part in Kidsfest this year. I remember watching him on TV, which is pretty much a guarantee he’ll put on a great show. His huge body of work consists of songs full of energy and emotional connections with a theme rooted in a ‘belief in what I can do.’ Performances include:
- Friday, June 10th 10:00 pm
- Sunday, June 12th 12:00 pm
This dynamic duo embodies the amazement of going to the circus mixed with the spontaneous fun of street performing! They perform over 100 tricks and stunts throughout their show, which will make it a huge thrill for all. It’s a show of non-stop entertainment from two world-renowned performers. Catch them at Tent C:
- Thursday, June 9th 12:00 pm
- Friday, June 10th 10:00 am
- Saturday, June 11th 1:15 pm and 3:15 pm
- Sunday, June 12th 1:30 pm
He’s been contorting and entertaining since a young age mostly just for his family and friends. In 2004, he decided to make a career out of it. He’s performed at festivals and theatres in 9 different countries and on some well-known late night TV shows. Catch his show at Tent B.
These acts are only the tip of the iceberg! There’s so much more to see and to do, and it will be a fun time for the whole family, so make sure you go check it out!
