Downtown Pop-up Party

It’s just about time to leave the office for this long and wonderful Victoria Day weekend.. only two more hours to go. Not that I’ve been staring at my clock all day or anything..

If you’re like me, you’re probably dreaming of sipping sangria on patios, and curling up under the shade of a big old tree and catching up on some long-overdue leisure reading. And if you’re REALLY like me, you may already be dreading the return to the 9-5 grind on Tuesday morning. But I’ve just heard word of an awesome event that’ll make next week’s shortened workweek feel even shorter: Best of Fest Downtown!

Best of Fest Downtown is happening next Friday, May 27, and it’s sure to be the perfect preview of all the summer fun to take place from June ‘til August.

The festivities are going to kick-off at 10AM on Carlton Street with delicious food trucks, fantastic farmers’ market vendors and a variety of buskers filling the sunny morning streets with music.

So sneak out of the office for moment, grab your lunch from your favourite eats on wheels, and enjoy the day—you’ve earned it!

The party continues into the evening at 7PM for the after-work crowd. If you’re not downtown earlier in the day, you’ll have your chance to get your food truck fix, shop the farmers’ market, and dance all night to DJ A.O.K.S., Vikings, and much more! Party’s taking place in the parking lot behind the Workers Compensation Board building (333 Broadway).

Also, a little birdie told me some delegates are coming to town for Centrallia, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, and the Liberal Biennial Convention—maybe if you’re lucky you can sneak a selfie with Trudeau!

So there you have it, now you can carry on with your long weekend plans and know next week you can cruise on through to Friday. And if your boss asks, just tell ‘em to join in the pop-up party!
