OK, let’s talk food.
After all, what is a festival without tasty food and libations? Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries ManyFest promises to serve up both with a flourish this year. I myself prefer wine, but beer drinkers will be happy this year to enjoy a brewski at the newly expanded Wine & Beer Festival, located in Memorial Park. Buy a roll of tickets and you’ll be set to sample a variety of wines and beers, in support of Keeping Abreast. Plus, those same tickets are also good at 12 food trucks. If you’ve been on Broadway over the lunch hour on a summer weekday, you’ll have noticed the number of mobile dining options has exploded. This year’s ManyFest lets you sample the best of them, and with such names as On a Roll, Habanero Sombrero, Pimp My Rice and The Poutine King, you’ll want to try a few. With a fun twist dubbed “Food Truck Wars,” you can actually cast your vote at the festival for your favourite. Sign me up!
The Wine & Beer Festival and Food Truck Wars open at 5pm this Friday and 11am on Saturday, running through to 11pm both days. Sunday’s hours are 11am to 6pm. Tickets available for purchase on site.
