Well even though I’ve indulged in a fair bit of wine the last couple of days, I’m up early this morning to do my part for my body. This morning I’m running the Winnipeg 10+10. I was aiming for the 10 miler, but since I’m lazy, I’ve decided to opt for the 10 km. I’ve been doing a good amount of training, and I feel ready to hit the finish line.
After I’m done huffing and puffing, I’m heading to the second annual Ciclovia. If you missed it last year, don’t make that mistake again. This eco-friendly bike festival was incredible last year and this year, I’m sure it will the same. The entire north side of Broadway has been closed to traffic from Osborne to Main Street.
Additional street closures along Wellington Crescent and Wolseley Avenue, as well as curb lane closures through the West Broadway Neighbourhood mean people can walk, bike, jog or blade all the way from Assiniboine Park to The Forks, free from traffic!
While on Broadway between Main and Osborne, enjoy a farmers’ market, artisan market, bike zone, community zone, fitness classes like zumba and belly dancing, as well as music, yoga, tennis, street hockey and so much more.
