You may have noticed things look a little different around here today. Well, like any woman on the go, sometimes I just need a change. A new haircut, a new style and a new outlook. (Well actually, my outlook is the same–I’m still your go-to gal for all things downtown and that will never change.)
Along with my new style, I’ve added a few more goodies to this page and will keep adding more. Look along the top for restaurant listings, as well some descriptions of my favourite shops. I’ve also got an event list going and will be continually adding to it. If you have anything to suggest email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. This will all be a work in progress.
I’ve got a new Facebook page started, so please come on over and become my fan. I’m also making the rounds on Foursquare lately, so if you’re into it, look me up. We’ve also got a great giveaway if you check into the Downtown BIZ office at 426 Portage Avenue–some very cool buttons. You’ll be the hottest cat on the street sporting one of these babies. Honestly, you will.
While I’m here, I wanted to take a moment to fill you in on an awesome upcoming event–Yoga in the Park. Starting next Thursday, free yoga classes in Memorial Park will be offered courtesy of Yoga Public, a new studio set to open in downtown later this year. The gang at yoga public have put together an awesome lineup exploring all types of yoga–there’s more to it than just standing on your head boys and girls.
Beginners need not fear, as they’ve assured me these classes are designed for all levels. You do need your own mat though, but if you don’t already have one, that’s just a good excuse to go shopping. Ten Spa at the Fort Garry will soon be selling Yoga Public merchandise–including delectable lavender eye pillows–so even if you don’t know what you’re doing, you can look like you know. And really, isn’t that most of the battle anyway? Classes run 12pm-12:50pm every Thursday and are free (donations are graciously accepted). They’re cancelled in the event of rain.
All right, time to sign off. I hope you enjoy this new look–feedback is always welcome.
Oh and over the summer, keep an eye for me. I’m about to take the city by storm.
Got you curious now don’t I?
